Landscape

This Ink-wash "Landscape" is Lin Shu's masterpiece, the brushwork meticulous and the washes fluid and refined. Although it is a small painting, the size does not diminish its excellence. The inscription in the upper right reads: "In this painting I wanted to imitate (Dai) Luchuang, nevertheless a kind of refined fluidity learned from Zhang Nanpi not very ashamed; I am a professor at Beijing Normal University with over a thousand students; and my worthy junior, Wenqiing, you better have my paintings secret if obtains them. If someone obtains one of them, so what? I just laugh about it. . Old Weilu Lin Shu, 62 years of age."
