Landscape of Carkovia (Mountain)

In 1955 Diego Rivera visited Moscow for the second time. The first had been in 1927, when he was invited to the celebration of the tenth anniversary of the October Revolution. This time he went for medical reasons: his doctors had diagnosed him with cancer and Rivera had declared to the press: “Moscow is the only place in the world where doctors really cure cancer.” His stay in the hospital did not interrupt his artistic activity. Among the works he produced in Moscow there are several landscapes, portraits of men and women, and a series of Russian children, standing out The Sputnik Boy and Russian Boy with Sleigh.
