Landscape

This work comes from a period when the artist narrowed down his colour range in order to distinguish a single, dominant group of hues. Although the landscape is incredibly synthetic, we can make out the green of the fields, the blue colour of water and a silhouette on the bank, propped up on an elbow. Such a pose is typical of presentations of women in the artist’s paintings.
