Obraz przedstawia ulotny, rozedrgany pejzaż. Zaledwie szkicowo, plamą przedstawiony został złotawy horyzont, poniżej którego rozpościera się zielona łąka. Z prawej strony kompozycji zaznaczone zostały ciemne drzewa. Z lewej strony złotym kolorem artysta zasugerował fragment łuku tęczy. Na niebie przedstawione zostały brązowo-szare chmury. Całość jest przedstawiona wrażeniowo, oddając moment, chwilę, w której powstawał obraz. Dominującymi kolorami są szarości, brązy ugry, ale występują również zielenie, błękity i czerwienie.
W dolnym prawym rogu obrazu znajduje się podpis artysty.

- About the author: Stefan Filipkiewicz, (1879 Tarnów – 1944 Mauthausen-Gusen), A painter and graphic artist, he also painted landscapes inspired by the Young Poland Movement. He is ranked among the most prominent representatives of Jan Stanisławski’s “school of landscape painting”. From 1900 to 1908, he was a student at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Filipkiewicz made his debut in 1899 at an exhibition held by the Society of Friends of Fine Arts, where he presented a series of landscapes of the Tatra mountains. In 1905, he became a member of the Vienna Secession, and in 1908, he joined the Society of Polish Artists “Sztuka” (“sztuka”=”art” in Polish). He took part in the Secession exhibitions in Berlin, Munich, and Vienna, as well as in many international exhibitions and vernissages in Dresden, Rome, and Venice. He exhibited his works at the collective presentations of Polish art in the United States, London, Vienna and Paris. Since 1913, Filipkiewicz taught decorative painting at the School of Industry in Krakow. Since I930, he lectured at the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, where he was appointed Professor in 1936. During World War II he was an active member of the resistance and underground organizations. In 1944, Filipkiewicz was arrested by the Gestapo, and sent to the Mauthausen-Gusen concentration camp, where he was murdered.
