This is the largest drum among all Korean musical instruments. It is played with a drumstick of which the end is wrapped with cloth, placed on a wooden frame. Introduced from Song dynasty China in 1116 (11th year of King Yejong of Goryeo), it had been used in various court and ritual music in Joseon period.
