The panel with scenes from the life of St. Zenobius belongs to a four-part painting frieze or "spalliere". In all likelihood, it was commissioned by Francesco de' Girolamo to celebrate the wedding of one of his sons, either Raffaello Girolami (1497) or Zanobi (1500).
