Painted when Kent was nearly 90 years old, this small oil painting shows his farm Asgaard, in the Adirondack Mountains, near Au Sable Forks, New York. It shows a more abstracted view of the same landscape he painted with more naturalistic detail in other works, like "Sally on Horseback, Asgaard" (Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts). On a personal level, the landscape reflect the artist's lifelong desire to live and work away from the distractions of an urban center like New York City.
