Crafted in the Late-Qing period, this cute foldable razor has an almost century-old history. On its iron blade in a shape similar to rectangular with a straight spine and a square tip, the edge curves slightly inwards so as to avoid accidental cuts while shaving. Its copper handle is embellished with engraved orchid patterns, which, together with bamboo, plum blossoms, etc., were favorite motifs of the literati in the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1912 AD) to symbolize noble characters, thus commonly seen on their belongings.
