historical photography - Laughter of the Gods, 1920 Eduard Kohout (Ictarion); Eduard Kohout (1889-1976) played at the National Theatre since 1902. His most recent role was Mr. Dean in the third ringing, which premiered in 1970. He played here for seventy years. Also - he belonged to pioneers of the Czech film acting and his charismatic voice was often used by radio. He is the author of intriguing memoirs named Theater or The Book of Dreams. It may surprise you, but the actual name of the actor, whom everyone with love and respect called Edáček, was originally František.
