This series, loosely titled "Sunbrellas", has been part of my artistic practice since 2014, and I continue it today. My work involves seeing the lines, shapes and colors ever present in the world, in both the mundane and extraordinary. These images, look up into the sunbrellas, not generally out from under it. I am inspired by and enthralled with the abstractions found in the forms and lines against the clouded or cloudless sky. The viewer is often in or under the shade, looking upward and outward, but not usually at other objects. The expanse of the natural world takes on both the figure and the background in different images.
