Essen, Germany

Although she was never employed at the Bauhaus, the expressive dancer Gret Palucca (1902–1993) was a member of the circle of artists around the Bauhaus from the 1920s onwards. Bauhaus masters such as Wassily Kandinsky and László Moholy-Nagy were fascinated by Palucca’s powerful movements that inspired them to create their own artistic works.
