It is traditionally believed that immediately after Ivan Mazepa's opposition to Peter I, the Russian authorities not only stigmatized the hetman's name, but also tried in every possible way to erase him from the memory of descendants. So did it manage to make Mazepa forgotten by Ukrainians? Did they still remember the rebellious hetman? If they did, how exactly? The lecturer is Maksym Yaremenko, doctor of historical sciences, senior researcher of the National Museum of History of Ukraine and associate professor of the NaUKMA.
