In a dream an angel appeared to Ursula, a king’s daughter, and announced that she would suffer martyrdom. Returning by boat from a pilgrimage to Rome with an entourage of 11,000 virgins, Ursula stopped in Cologne, where the Huns already awaited them. They refused the men’s advances, whereupon the Huns killed them. Ursula died last, shot by the Hun king’s arrow.
