Left shoe of Günter Netzer

It would be "just" a football boot if it hadn't been Günter Netzer's left foot in it. On 23 June 1973, Netzer tightened his laces once again for Borussia, went to Christian Kulik, asked him if he could still play and, in response to his negative answer, said to coach Hennes Weisweiler: "I'll play now." Three minutes later, after substituting himself in extra time of the DFB Cup final against 1. FC Köln, he plays a one-two with Rainer Bonhof and shoots the ball into the corner of the Cologne goal for the 2-1 victory.
