Eleven iron bells threaded on hand made string. The bells made by Kavila specialises in bell making. He heats and beats out the iron then cuts it into circles and doubles them over. Some of the iron balls inside are small bearings others are made by Kavila from tiny bits of iron which he left over when cutting out the bells. The bits are hammered into rough balls. These bells are worn only by "Anake" (Warrior class) when dancing a dance called "Nzai" which is danced during the dry and fairly coll season of september and December. When people can wear fairly heavy things. A piece of cloth (formerly leather) is bound round the ankle and then these bells are wound round and round over it.
