This painting is one of Eileen’s more detailed renderings of architecture. Memories, sketches, and photos that Eileen and Fred took during the 1950s inspired it. Over the years, Eileen’s organized sketches and photos became a treasure trove of material ripe for paintings. She also clipped and filed magazine pictures of people and places. All of the above were her “go to” sources when seeking inspiration for paintings. A peek through her filing cabinet revealed a myriad of subjects, from frivolous and fun to serious to simply examples of anatomy, everyday objects, and “things” of all kinds.
