Letter from Louisa Garrett Anderson to Ivy Anderson.
Dearest Ivy
Alan's visit was awfully nice. Seeing people is a thousand times better than writing. I wish you had been able to come too, beloved. I don't like you to be at all seedy & we shall all feel the sky clearer when No.4 is safely here. The first 3 are such darlings that it is worth while going through something for No.4. I am writing to Dr Turnbull - & I wd like you to go & see her regularly every month please in any case - of course oftener if you are breathless or suffering in any way.

The things you sent are a real boon. There hasn't been time to think abt ourselves much but it is cold especially at nights & it may soon be colder & I have already started wearing yr things with great comfort. The waistcoat thing is beautifully warm - will you please burden yrself with getting duplicates for [??Flo ??FM] - & sending them either by Miss Burdett or direct by parcel post to her at Claridge & letting me have the bill. Good gloves with long fingers & big [?illegible] woollies: puttees of mouse colour, & leather waistcoat like mine only if possible mouse coloured or brown rather than yellow & slender size [drawing] not [drawing].

Mr Campbell is just leaving so I mustn't write more. Much much love LGA
