Letter from Private Pete Walker

Private Pete Walker wrote this joyful letter to his ‘most precious sweetheart’ Phyll. She has just accepted his offer of marriage, also made via the post: ‘I wept with joy. I could not help it. If you could only know how happy it made me darling to know that you accepted me and that you will be mine for ever’.
