Letter from the Polish Red Cross announcing the death of Irena Stryjak, deported to the USSR

After the war, many thousands of people had no information about those nearest and dearest to them. Civilian and military organisations helped to search for and reunite families. The Polish Red Cross was at the forefront in providing such aid to Polish nationals.
