Typed Letter marked 'Private and Confidential' referring to a protest organised by the Women's Social and Political Union on Saturday November 23rd 1907. Signed by Edith How Martyn & Teresa Billington-Grieg the letter notes 'All that is required is for two or perhaps three women to go quietly and separately into any Police Court about 10 o'clock in the morning. They should sit quietly in the benches set aside for the Public until a woman is brought up to be tried, then one of them should rise up and protest - the others taking no part. When the first protestant has been removed others should wait until a second or third woman is brought up for trial and repeat the previous protest. If after uttering their protest the women withdraw quietly there will most likely be no prosecutions.' A meeting will be held the same evening.'
