Without the pianist and piano maker Nannette Streicher, Beethoven would have been in a real mess. For Beethoven had no idea how to run a household or even personnel. Nannette advised him on all these questions for over a year and a half. Over sixty letters and many entries in the conversation books document the friendship between Nannette, her husband and Ludwig van Beethoven. In this letter, Beethoven announces a visit to discuss the employment of a housekeeper.
