Hon.
William J. Gaynor,
Mayor, City of New York.
My dear Mr. Mayor:
As owner of the Lenox Library property, on which site it is my purpose to build a private residence, I have the honor of proposing that the Library Building be removed and re-erected in some public place for such municipal purpose as you may determine. If this proposition be accepted, I hereby offer to remove and re-erect the building at my expense, ready to be re-fitted as to its interior by the City at its expense.
Very respectfully,
[
Henry Clay Frick]
