    Hon. William J. Gaynor, Mayor, City of New York. My dear Mr. Mayor: As owner of the Lenox Library property, on which site it is my purpose to build a private residence, I have the honor of proposing that the Library Building be removed and re-erected in some public place for such municipal purpose as you may determine. If this proposition be accepted, I hereby offer to remove and re-erect the building at my expense, ready to be re-fitted as to its interior by the City at its expense.
