When looking into the use of the Armenian alphabet in Anatolia in the past as well as today, there are certain Armenian communities that did not know the language but knew how to read and write the Armenian alphabet. They produced texts in Turkish but written with Armenian letters. Adopting a similar approach and referencing Lord Byron’s attempt to learn Armenian on the Island of San Lazzaro in Venice, Letters from Lost Paradise uses English written with Armenian script. The letter stamps constantly move inside the silent atmosphere of the library, like a continuous mechanism.
