Scissors have also occupied an important position in the Chinese folk customs. Having been endowed with the special significance of subduing evil beings or loyal companion, scissors-shaped accessories came into being, usually used to adorn the hat or garment of children in the hope of keeping them safe.
Given the small shape and blunt blades, this pair of bronze scissors were not designed for practical use. They have two “S”-shaped finger bows, one of which hangs a pendant, forming a special cute vase when the scissors are closed, and making this pair a beautiful ornament.
