Farmácia Liberal, founded on August 11, 1890, was established on Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon. It was defined by the Illustrated Century, on November 14, 1942 as:
"one of the best pharmacies in the capital, due to its splendid facilities, its magnificent assortment, its well-known technical competence and the correctness with which it serves its numerous clientele."
In the pharmacy laboratory, particularly active extracts and tinctures were prepared and new pharmaceutical forms were perfected, such as pills, capsules or medicated cachets, compressed tablets or lozenges, gelatin capsules, granules, dosimetric granules, solutes injectables, suppositories and ova, ointments and mineral medicinal waters.
