This lidded, covered glass bottle is from northeast California, possibly Wintu, Achumawi or Dixie Valley Atsugewi in origin. The piece has conifer root warp elements and exhibits close plain twining with full-twist overlay. The light brown ground is natural colored, split bear grass. The zig zags, checkered bands and other design elements are in woodwardia fern dyed reddish-brown.
