ATELIER SISU - EVANESCENT "Evanescent" is an adjective in English, meaning a quality that passes or fades quickly; impermanence. "Evanescent is an immersive, light and sonorous, temporary pavilion-like environment. The use of dichroic film produces a unique aesthetic effect that splits the light beam into two beams of different wavelengths, simulating bubble beams. The theme chosen for the sculpture was to be a universal and self-evident concept, and by choosing to mimic the 'magic' of bubbles, we are drawn back to their universal playfulness and joy that we felt as children. The material splits sunlight into a rainbow of different colours, the reflected colour rays illuminate the surroundings and enlarge the space, making every viewing of the work a unique experience. Conceptually, the work encourages viewers to consider the world around them as a fleeting and fragile space, like a bubble itself.
