"In 1943, on arrival at my in laws, I saw that lime pot. My mother-in-law hid it carefully in her room. She took it out to make a betel chew or to welcome guests. She took lime with a knife the put it on the betel leaf which she rolled. I was young I did not know anything about the lime pot. My mother-in-law said that breaking a lime pot was a bad sign. On every use a little lime stayed at the opening of the pot, and slowly a spout was formed. The longer the spout is, the richer the family is."
