Inspired after a 1938 trip to Europe, Edsel Ford collaborated with automotive designer Eugene Gregorie to produce one of the most iconic and elegant automobiles of the 20th century. Reaction was so positive that Lincoln put the car into production. Frank Lloyd Wright considered the Lincoln Continental Cabriolet “The most beautiful car of all time.” Recognized by the Classic Car Club of America (CCCA) as a full classic, only 400 Continentals were built in 1941. The beautiful 1940-1948 Lincoln Continentals that followed arguably represent Edsel Ford's most important contribution to the automotive industry.
