Although Lincoln tried to distance himself from his rough and poor upbringing, he is most often associated with being born in a log cabin. “Lincoln Logs” were developed in 1916, by John Wright, son of architect Frank Lloyd Wright, to celebrate Lincoln’s humble beginnings and the 50th anniversary of the end of the Civil War.
