Lionardo Buonarroti, mayor of Casentino, fortifies Chiusi

In this fresco of the room of night and day, Michelangelo the Younger wanted to celebrate the deeds of his ancestor Leonardo Buonarroti, father of Lodovico and grandfather of Michelangelo. Leonardo was prior in 1459 and held several public offices. He died in 1459. In this scene is depicted the fortification of Chiusi that took place in 1424.
