A wide panoramic perspective presents the favorite theme of the artist that in many ways will be recursive in all his work. The characteristic railing of the balcony of the Palace of the Marquis de Tancos functions as the front stage forming a half ellipse to which the blues of the sky, the river and the other shore respond.
The diverse volumetry of the buildings seeks to find in the referent, which is the city, some rhythms suggestive of a superficial plastic modernity. The silence and melancholy of Sunday, punctuated by the national flags raised, highlight the dormant immobility of a city frozen in time and self-absorbed, after all like this painting.
