Lisbon, Anecdotal Chronicle is inspired by the city-symphony movies, as Walter Ruttman’s Berlin - Symphony of a Metropolis (1927). The movie follows the daily life of Lisbon’s inhabitants, inspired, according to Tiago Baptista (2009), by two different traditions: the documentary and the influence of the city-symphonies, as mentioned, and the genre of the “Portuguese comedy”.
