Lithograph from 'South Australia Illustrated'

A large book titled, as printed on the title page, SOUTH AUSTRALIA / ILLUSTRATED, by George French Angas. The book is half-bound in tan leather and red coated paper, with tooled borders to the leather. The spine features geometric stamps, six raised bands with tooled gold trim, and the following text in gold: "SOUTH / AUSTRALIA / ANGAS / 1847".

The book contains 60 plates of prints of coloured drawings, each with a printed description on the opposite page. The text of the book is in black print on cream paper. The book was published by Thomas McLean, Haymarket, London, in 1847.
