Nestled in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains lies the Sanctuary of Lluc, a place of devotion and pilgrimage, a cultural symbol of Mallorca. In the 14th century, a small hermitage and simple shelters were built to provide refuge for pilgrims. In 1456, the Escolania de Blauets de Lluc, one of the oldest musical institutions in Spain, was founded. And in 1622, the foundation stone of the current basilica was laid.
