Julie is a 1975 Hindi film, directed by K. S. Sethumadhavan, that stars Lakshmi in the title role paired opposite Vikram Makandar. The film also starred Nadira, Utpal Dutt, Achala Sachdev, Om Prakash and Sridevi as a child star. Julie was a box office and musical hit, launching the music career of Rajesh Roshan, who won the Filmfare Award for the year. It had one of the first English language songs in an Indian film, "My Heart is Beating", sung by Preeti Sagar and written by Harindranath Chattopadhyay. It is a remake of a Malayalam hit film Chattakari (1974), which also starred Laxmi and is based on the Malayalam novel of the same name (authored by Pamman). She would star in yet another remake, the Telugu film Miss Julie Prema Katha (1975). The Kannada remake, Julie, released in 2006, however had Ramya in the titular role and Dino Morea as the leading man.
