Lockwood Cabinet Photo

Cabinet photos, of which this is one, gradually replaced cartes de visite in terms of popularity in the 1880's. Their larger size allowed them to be displayed not only in a family photograph album, but outside it as well, either as a picture on the wall or one on a dresser or bureau. As is the case with all Lockwood photos, this example is rarely seen.
