Locomotive at Masham Station, North Yorkshire

This station was opened in 1875 and was used by passengers and goods trains carrying timber. Masham was popular with visitors to the Yorkshire Dales, and with people visiting the town's annual sheep fair. The station closed to passengers in 1931 and to freight in 1963.
