Tróndur Sverri Patursson (born 1944) has painted in black against an ultramarine background so that it resembles a charcoal drawing on a glowing, blue background. The title 'Lognbra' refers to an optical phenomenon that sometimes occurs in the Faroes in clear, calm weather which makes the islands suddenly appear to be closer and higher than they really are, i.e. a kind of mirage. Author: Lisbeth Bonde, M.A and art critic. Photographer: Torben Eskerod.
