Long-tailed goral (or Amur goral, Naemorhedus cautatus)

National Institute of Ecology

National Institute of Ecology
Seocheon, South Korea

The goral inhabits rocky mountains in the DMZ area, and it is hard to find because of its grayish brown color similar to rocks. The goral is also called “Living Fossil” because its shape has been kept virtually the same as that of gorals first found in the earth. You can also see the goral at the “Deer Park” of the National Institute of Ecology.
