A view of Long Wharf from the turntable and roundhouse. The Long Wharf was built 4720 feet out into Santa Monica Bay by the Southern Pacific Railroad Company near Santa Monica Canyon. The majority of the construction was completed in 1893. Photograph inscribed: "195. S. P. Mammoth Wharf, Turntable and Roundhouse, H. F. Rile, Photo."
