This is the first page of a note that President Truman wrote, possibly to aid in writing his memoirs, about election night in 1948. After he voted, Mr. Truman secretly slipped into a car with two of his Secret Service agents and went to a hotel in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, to get away from the crowds and reporters.
