Ribbon badge made for a memorial of a member of the Longshoremen's Protective Union Benevolent Association of New Orleans. The ribbon is reversible, the obverse is black and the reverse is dark blue, with similar inscription on both sides. The badge features an image of a laurel wreath around the inscription "In Memoriam" and has gold trim and accents. The top of the badge has a gold toned pin with an image of two hands shaking and a filigree motif. Attached to that pin by metal chains is a hanging gold toned pin which has a eagle holding arrows and an American flag over a laurel wreath, surrounding an image of a steamship. The bottom of the badge has gold metallic fringe.
