On May 13, 1940, amidst rumors indicating that the houses and establishments of Japanese Pervuians were about the betray the Peruvian government, a large number of establishments and houses of the community were looted and destroyed. This photograph shows a garment factory owned by a Japanese Peruvian and the aftermath of the riot.
