Lorenzo the Magnificent receives the tribute of the ambassadors

The painting features a crowd of ambassadors paying homage to Lorenzo the Magnificent. Aside from those messengers from the different kingdoms of Italy – Naples, Siena, Perugia, Milan, Rome, Bologna, Faenza – we also find foreign ambassadors kneeling in front of Lorenzo, among whom are believed to have been envoys of Sultan Qaitbay, from Cairo, Egypt.
