Louis Compaignon de Marchéville, grandfather of the current owners, and son of Marcel Compaignon de Marchéville who bought the casle in 1901. After his father died, Louis went on with the restoration works and fitting out with full modern comfort such as central heating, telephon, bathroom in every bedroom before 1914. Louis had also to find period furniture, objects and tapisteries to make his house comfortable.
Restorations were entrusted to Charles Genuys Inspector General of the Government Monument Service and Pierre Chauvallon.
