Tay, Wei Leng has been living and working in Hong Kong for the past ten years. Her photography examines how people's relationships, priorities, and ways of life are shaped by the socio-political landscape of the places they live in. Her work has been exhibited in locations such as Fukuoka Asian Art Museum, the Singapore Art Museum, Kiyosato Museum of Photographic Arts of Japan and the Institute of Contemporary Art Singapore. Hong Kong Living is a series of portraits of people in their homes in Hong Kong. With its high living costs, frenetic pace, and tight spaces, Hong Kong is a stressful city to live in. Photographing people in their homes reveals to the artist a part of their Hong Kong, and how they deal with their lives here.
