The artist leads us into a dance hall with four windows and a decorative bay window. There we see couples flirting or conversing. At one table a female server is handing a guest a glass, while at the window behind them another guest is awakening from sleep. The appeal of this drawing is based on its realistic depiction of the room and its rendering of diverse types of couples.
