On the night of March 12–13, 1848, an anonymous leaflet containing a list of political and social demands is posted on street corners and slipped under doors in the capital. According to Albert Calmes, the pamphlet was not produced in Metz but rather in Arlon by printer Jean Laurent, a frontman for the Belgian newspaper *Écho du Luxembourg*. It was distributed by a former soldier of the Prussian garrison, who would later be sentenced on June 1, 1848, to six days in prison for secretly posting it.
