Lviv Opera In front of you is the Lviv Theatre of Opera and Ballet, named after the famous opera singer Solomiya Krushelnytska. The design of the building belongs to Zygmunt Gorgolewski, who won the architectural design competition conducted in 1885. Opera house construction was finished in 1900. The Austrian company Siemens & Halske ran the electrical wiring and lights of the building. The highlight of the theatre is the colossal theatrical curtain ""Parnassus"", which is actually a picture. It depicts mythological characters, including eight muses, the priestess Pythia and the goddess Themis.
